IFUT were well represented at a workshop that took place in the FORSA Offices on the 28th of August.  The workshop, chaired by Dr Gráinne Healy concentrated on getting those in attendance to focus on, and clarify, the objectives of the Coalition for Publicly Funded Higher Education.

The Education Oversight Body was established as a result of the Public Services Pay Agreement to act as a “fast-track” clearing house for disputes which arise regarding the specific education-related provisions of the Agreement.

IFUT has agreed on a protocol with the IUA on the implementation of the Report of the Expert Group on Fixed-Term and Part-Time Employment in Lecturing (the Cush Report).

IFUT is the only trade union to secure such an agreement which will cover the whole of the university sector.

The General Secretary, Joan Donegan, has written to IFUT TCD Branch Member,  Prof. Ivana Bacik to warmly congratulate her on being named Irish Woman Lawyer of the Year, 2019.

The award will be presented to Ivana on October 19th next.
 

The General Secretary, Joan Donegan, and the President of IFUT, Dr Angela Flynn, are attending the 8th World Congress of Educational International in Bangkok. The EI World Congress is the supreme decision-making body of Education International.
